Quantitative study for the effect of water velocity on water quality change

Atmospheric reaeration process plays a key role in degradation of organic matter and self-purification processes affecting dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations rivers streams. Moreover, water quality (WQ) can be highly dependent on flow velocity conditions. Where, rates are positively correlated with high velocity. Therefore, the present work reports deep insights concentration DO biochemical demand (BOD5). This study was applied along largest agricultural drainage reuse project, El-Salam Canal Egypt. The hydrodynamic (HD) characteristics WQ parameters (DO BOD5) canal were simulated using one-dimensional HD model (MIKE 11). results indicated that deteriorated towards after mixing El-Serw Bahr Hadous drains. Statistical regression fitted line Pearson correlation analysis, performed simulation values, indicating significant correlation. Accordingly, should taken into account as factor for describing change.
